Information You Provide

  • Account information: Your email address and name (if provided) when you create an account.
  • Plant data: Plant names, species, photos, care logs, and notes you enter into the app.
  • Support requests: Information you provide when contacting us for help.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Device information: Device type, operating system version, app version, and device identifiers.
  • Usage data: Features used, session duration, in-app actions, and interaction patterns.
  • Photos: When you use plant identification or growth tracking features, photos are processed for plant identification and stored for your growth journal. Photos are only accessed when you explicitly use these features.

Information From Third Parties

  • Purchase information: Subscription and purchase data is managed by Apple through the App Store. We receive confirmation of your subscription status but do not collect or store payment card details.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide the Sprig service: Identify your plants, generate care schedules, deliver health diagnostics, and track plant growth.
  • Send care reminders: Deliver watering, feeding, and repotting notifications you have opted into.
  • Improve Sprig: Analyze usage patterns in aggregate to understand which features are most useful and where we can improve.
  • Communicate with you: Send service updates, new feature announcements, and respond to your support requests.
  • Ensure security: Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.

Data Sharing

We Do Not Sell Your Personal Information

We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Sprig:

  • RevenueCat: Manages subscription status and in-app purchases.
  • Analytics providers: We use analytics tools to understand app usage in aggregate. Data shared with analytics providers is anonymized and aggregated.
  • Cloud infrastructure: Your data is stored on secure cloud servers provided by reputable infrastructure providers.
  • AI services: Plant photos submitted for identification may be processed by AI services. These services process images for identification purposes only and do not retain your photos.

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, in response to a valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Sprig, our users, or the public.

Data Storage and Security

  • All data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption, both in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest.
  • Plant photos are stored in encrypted cloud storage and are only accessible to you through your account.
  • We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Sprig service.
  • We regularly review and update our security practices to protect your information.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your data: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct your data: Update or correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Delete your data: Delete your account and all associated data at any time through the app settings. When you delete your account, all your personal data, plant profiles, photos, and care logs are permanently removed.
  • Export your data: Request a copy of your plant data in a portable format.
  • Opt out of marketing: Unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe link in our emails.

For California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. As noted above, we do not sell personal information.

For EU/EEA Residents (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to data portability, the right to restrict processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Our legal basis for processing your data is your consent (which you may withdraw at any time) and the performance of our contract with you.

Children's Privacy

Sprig is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
